Also, you could advertise it in the Show and Tell forum. That's also a good way to get views.

There are a few ways, actually. You could ask the curator to take a look at it, and maybe curate it, you could let a member of the Scratch Team at MIT (My future college) see it and maybe feature it, or you could get a lot of Love-Its, Views, or Remixes to get it on one of those categories. I got my project front-paged by asking for it to be curated. Good luck!

Just upload the project and it will appear under newest projects!

New projects only appear for a few minutes at the most, though.

Also if you give it tons of tags someone might search for one of those tags and see your project.

There are many ways to get on the front page. Let me explain the sections.
Newest Projects- Every single project is on the front page when they are first uploaded. This section randomly selects three of the newest projects randomly and displays them on the front page.
Featured Projects- You can only get your project in this section if it is featured by a Scratch Team member. Not many projects get chosen for this section. About 1-2 a week.
Curator Section- If your project is favorited by the selected curator, it will get on the front page until three more projects are added to the section.
I think the other sections are pretty easy to figure out but if you want me to explain them, I will.
