The Scratch Team

I made this topic to thank the scratch Team at MIT. They have worked so hard on this website and the program. I would like to be an engineer. I would build roller coasters and rides. But ever since I discovered scratch I have a new dream. I would like to become apart of the scratch team when I'm older  smile  I hope it is still there when I'm old enough. I hope you guys don't mind if I ask YOU a few questions :

1. how old do you have to be to be apart of the scratch team or possibly an intern?
2. About how many people are apart of the scratch team?
3. When was the Scratch Team Formed (along with the website and program)
4. Are there any other programs that MIT do?
5. How much of the day do you usually spend on scratch?
6 (added after). Where is the scratch studio??? do they have one???

Thank You  smile

Re: The Scratch Team

1. how old do you have to be to be apart of the scratch team or possibly an intern?
Cheddar is about 17, I think, but she's not actually a proper member. I think I read she was just upgraded so she could help out on the website. The youngest to help out at the MIT lab is probably 20 or so.

2. About how many people are apart of the scratch team?
On the forums, maybe four or five, but I'd estimate there's about twenty others who don't use the forums.

3. When was the Scratch Team Formed (along with the website and program)
I think it was some university students who had to make something for a course, and it

4. Are there any other programs that MIT do?
Yes. I'll find a list soon.

5. How much of the day do you usually spend on scratch?
Me? About four hours.

6 (added after). Where is the scratch studio??? do they have one??
Scratch Studio? I don't understand what you mean.

What is with everyone trying to guess my age all of a sudden? Speaking of which, no one has ever gotten it right.  tongue

For the most part, most join the Scratch Team as MIT undergraduates through the UROP program (as indicated by the Administrator Info Page). Given that, I don't believe there's a set age since college students come in at different ages (some can take advanced programs and skip ahead a few grades, some might come in later after work experience, and so on); it really depends more on your eligibility to get accepted into MIT and the UROP program.

Although the part about the upgrade is rather true; the same can probably be said of Paddle2See since he's not a student of MIT either. But those are very rare exceptions, both Paddle and I were moderators and pretty active on Scratch before we got the ST titles.

I thought Paddle did spend some time at MIT, but not with the LLK and Scratch.

I was referring to current status (as in Pddle2See and I are not students currently attending MIT).

And still no.  tongue  But let's stop with the guessing games now, I don't want to derail the thread way off topic.

I don't know if there are internships related with Scratch or other (you might want to use the "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page to ask about it).

But ways for possibly joining the LLK group (whch includes things like Scratch) can be found here for anyone who is interested.  smile
