Scratch is something valuable. The program & the forums have endless possibilities. Sometimes, I wonder if people understand that. It all seemed to start sometime last year. A couple of people decided fake quit, starting the “I'm quitting” fad. I'd felt gravely sad that members of the community were leaving, though afterwards realizing that most of the quitting was fake. I felt angry that people made that many topics, but happy that most of them didn't leave. Nothing really got in my way on scratch until a user made a topic saying that he would pass away in a few days. This of course made many users sad, & hope that he was trolling. Me? Of course I was sad, but would be quite annoyed if it was fake. People started labeling others as trolls, though the moderators took care of all the flame. Sooner or later, this situation blew over. I'd soon needed to take break because I would be out of town for a week. Once I came back, I made a topic asking scratchers to fill me in on what had happend while I was gone. Several scratchers said that there had been a nasty image attack, & that images have been removed once again. I figured that removing the images was a good idea, & I still do. Unfortunately, scratchers started saying that scratch was in a depression, & soon after, the quitting fad started up again. This posting fad lasted shorter, however, & few users actullay quit. Things seemed fine after that, & the new year started out smoothly. Although, recently the Scratch Team announced that the miscellaneous forums would be split into 2 new forums. I felt that this was a reasonable idea, & so did some other people. However, many people strongly disagreed with this idea, & some started to quit. Me? The truth is, I'll never quit because of these silly reasons. I appreciate everything about scratch, & wonder why others don't think the same way. This is why I think people just don't understand what scratch is all about.
I hope this helps.

This could not be any more correct.

@CheesyMunchy: Glad to here your support!
@RedRocker227: Thanks! I spend about 15 minutes putting this together.

A good observation, that a lot of the drama seems a bit over-done. It kind of reminds me of that old saying that things are never as bad as people make out - or as good as others would have you believe. The truth is usually somewhere in the middle.
Now, before this topic goes any further, is this primarily about the upcoming replacement of the Miscellaneous topic? If so, we should probably merge it with the official topic.

This topic focuses on every piece of drama/rage/depression throughout 2011. This topic is not focused on the deletion of miscellaneous (which like I said, I support).

... So can this topic stay open? (at least for miscellaneous's remaining time?)

I was already planning to leave by June to optimize my part in the MC community and I am only here for the open, enjoyable misc. So, since I cannot have that, I am going to start learning java, get into MC modding and eventually become a well-known programmer.

Well good luck with your future. Although the forums won't be the same without you around.

Exactly. You're optimizing the protest. By supporting and being upset by the users quitting if you yourself are not quitting from this, Lightnin (Who I currently hate) will realize it will diminish the community and decide not to. THEN I STAY!

I don't think you should be saying about how much you hate Lightnin...

Scratch is about possibilities. I would request everyone to quit Misc./future Misc. but not the whole site.

The deletion of the miscellaneous forums is no reason to hate Lightnin (since he & the scratch team have reasons to split miscellaneous).

To stop any further trouble, I'm going to request that this topic be closed.

I'm starting to strongly dislike misc. It seems to be the source of a lot of trouble, including this incident.

People don't have to blindly accept every decision the Scratch Team makes.
Unlike some.
I don't dislike the change but, freedom of opinion.
