Hey guys,
It's undefeatedgames here. I want to talk about the issues.
Lately, there have been many poorly made decisions about the forums, such as closing the LGBT thread and the suspending of img tag use. While I have been disappointed with these decisions, the decision of deleting Misc. has made me angry.
I am seriously thinking of leaving the forums and providing a new place for Scratchers and Misc. If the Scratch Team reverses their decision, or adds the two new sections and keeping Misc. altogether, I will stay here. Otherwise I will probably go, create a new forum, and start from there.
Please reply below if you are in agreement. I want to bring the true believers of Scratch and Misc. together and into new forums.
Thank you,
undefeatedgames

its a sad day when people raeg over a forum being split up
i mean
from what you are saying
it sounds like you want a chat room forum
this place never was meant to be a chat room forum...

good luck with your internet life
if you leave

Yeah, I'll probably do that too. I'm not so sure about this new system. It's the first thing that's shaken my confidence in Scratch since, well, I started-back in '09.
I don't know.

NOOO! Don't Leave, undefeatedgames!

I made my opinion clear on the main thread, which is that I will quit if this goes aheaad.
For good this time.
You say it's 'sad' to get worked up over this, but it's not gonna be fun if all we can discuss is books (not everyone likes books) muisic, and video games.

Exactly.
That's why Misc. brings us together.

I'm making a forum now.
What should I call it?

There's nothing against creating a forum for talking about non-Scratch related stuff (let alone going to another forum that has a free-style off-topic section). Many Scratchers have been doing that a lot already in the past.

Phew. I thought you were going to close this
Anyway, thanks. A ton of Scratchers have been doing this. I'll just go with the flow and try to make mine like Misc.

You will still be on my forums, right? D:

You know you'll have to wait three months before you can actually link to it, right?

Nah, I only usually close if I smell flamebait smoke.
But really, just because Miscellaneous is closing and being replaced with two other ones focused more on creativity and media doesn't mean the end of the world. There are tons of other forums out there; and even they sometimes they require a restructuring change, too (nothing is ever permanent, ya know). Like with any website community undergoing change, some will or will not support the change - and like in those cases where people don't like the change, they move to another online community.

No exceptions; it's unfair for those who are already waiting for site approval. An offsite Miscellaneous forum will have to go through the same approval process as all the other forums waiting to be approved.

You can join the successor to Misc. Do you wanna link?

It's fine for Scratchers to make their own forum - but it has to go through the normal approval process. Actually, there are a lot that are approved already, but each one seems to be used only a little.
Perhaps those who really love the misc should band together, create a single off-site forum, agree on a system for electing moderators, and give it a go.
Probably you should choose one that is already established - see the list on the announcements thread. There are quite a few too choose from.

Is it okay to share the link via projects? We already have some competent moderators.

I don't think you're allowed to share it that way either, but the chances of a mod finding out if you do is very slim.
