I'm stunned.
Hmmm... There are a few topics that people enjoy that don't belong anywhere though... And it could be hard because you split the userbase almost in half. It's easier to have everything in one place. I guess I don't really understand what this is gonna fix. Trolls will be trolls, and people will still be off topic.

Our mods are awesome, but it still takes energy and focus to run the mod program.
As at least one former mod pointed out, they felt that more and more of their responsibilities were being focused on the misc, because that's where the flames / problems kept cropping up. When we made the mod program, we wanted mods to be able to help other Scratchers do awesome stuff with Scratch. Being an awesome helpful Scratcher was their primary role, and doing actual moderation was more secondary. But because the Misc was so often problematic, it demanded more and more of their (and our) limited time. As we move towards the alpha of Scratch 2.0, we need to keep our energy focused on things that are closely related to Scratch itself. Running an off-topic, anything goes forum (whose threads only rarely had much to do with Scratch), has turned out to be, well, too off-topic.
Good point Lightnin.
I've considered running for Moderator (and have done so in the past), however I do recognize that I already have responsibilities on the Scratch Wiki, and more importantly, I feel that the time I would have to dedicate to moderating miscellaneous is more than my capacity (or interest).

misc is being deleted?!
time to move on to reddit
Just kidding. :P

Guys, list some examples of topics that are productive that wouldn't fit in one of those.

I always thought that you would be a great moderator. But you are already helping the community, so I suppose you shouldn't run.

Awwww......
Well, it was fun. See ya, Misc!
I kinda like this idea.

Something 27, the day the TBGs were moved
August 27, the day we hit 2 million projects
December 27, the day veggie and coolstuff hit 10,000 posts, the 3rd and 4th users to do so
Now we need Misc to be moved January 27

Yeah
Of course, in the past I haven't been chosen as a candidate for Communuity Moderator (for the final poll) in the past, but that's another story. xD

Oh that's what it was.
Lol that's dumb

One thing: where's the link to TBG? I use the one in Misc.

Oh, well. It is for the better anyway. Misc has gotten filled with spam/useless topics over the years, and it needs a bit more than a cleaning up.
(Older Scratchers will know that this is actually the second time Misc has been changed. It was "Inspiration and More" before it Miscellaneous. )

I'm still proud of myself for figuring that out :3

27 seems to be a lucky Misc day
Yeah I guess. It's half of the 10000+ population.

Oh and y'all Scratch Team should add a link to the TBGs on the forum index.

I'll bet everyone's gonna post loads of pointless threads on that day, hoping to become famous for getting the last ever post in Miscellaneous...

Why don't we just get Miscellanous mods? They could just mod Misc and then you couldn't complain about it not being moderated enough.

That's a good idea, actually. No wait, that's a brilliant idea!

*combs through long white beard* *uses old man voice*
In my day, there wasn't even an Inspiration and More section! People used this forgotten forum called "Show and Tell". Difficult to believe, eh?

Hmm. That's a suggestion that I haven't seen a response from by the Scratch Team, but either way, I doubt it will solve the underlying problems with Miscellaneous.

The only thing I can think to add is slightly simpler names. "Things I’m Making and Creating" and "Things I’m Reading and Playing" don't exactly roll off the tongue. I have no idea what you'd call them instead, though.
