Help with Scrolling Backgrounds.

Okay here's the problem. I'm trying to make a Scrolling Background. But for thsi one you only scroll on the X and Y Vertex but since the stage is long, there is 2 background sprites set one of top of the other. Now here's the part where I need help. I have it all synced to be able to move in when it's needed acording to position. But now The thing is that it overlaps over the other. And Vice Versa. I don't want to resort to having to use a Black Border because then I'll have to redo the rest of the game and I don't want to do that. Now how can I make it transition smoothly without having to worry about the overlap or underlap showing. You since Scratch won't allow the sprites to go of the screen.

Re: Help with Scrolling Backgrounds.

Unfortunitely, the black border is probably the only too prevent overlapping scrolling backgrounds. And how could the black border mess up your game, anyways?

Re: Help with Scrolling Backgrounds.

Because I scripted other parts of it. In the full 480x360 and the spirtes are made for that. And now having to change this now and having the black border would not look well.

Re: Help with Scrolling Backgrounds.

There IS another way...
To make any sprite move completely offscreen without using a border... use an outside editer to put a transparent border AT LEAST 18 pixels wide around the sprite costume, then import it into Scratch.

Scratch auto stops every sprite at 18 pixels from going off the edge but with the last part being transparent, it will appear to be completely gone. Awesome, eh?

aka Pain from DragonSpires, Delrith Online, BotBattle, Urban Dead etc etc lol
