1. Open Notepad.
2. In Notepad, type in this:

title A Paddle Story

echo Paddle2See: *gets on pony and rides into the sunset*

3. Open File menu and click "Save as"
4. Click the drop down box.
5. Select "All files"
6. Save it as A Paddle Story.bat (NOTHING AFTER .BAT) on your desktop and click "Save".
7. Double click it on your desktop.

I don't see how you can run that.
1) Batch files ALWAYS have @echo off
2) No ; in Batch files.
3) None of that code works in Batch.
