I live in the UK and first.
The UK stands for United Kingdom which is Wales, England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Great Britain is England and Wales. England is the modern word and Britain is short for Britainnia, which was the Roman word for England. I prefer to be English. As I am.

I call it the United Kingdom, without abrreviation.
Because I have been confused due to the fact that Kentucky has the UK (University of Kentucky)

British Isles = England, Scotland, Wales N. Ireland and Republic of Ireland.
UK = England, Scotland, Wales and N. Ireland.
Great Britain = England, Scotland and Wales.
However, Scotland is declaring independence and if it goes ahead it won't be part of the UK any more.
I call the UK my home.
EDIT: the UK is the country.

England if it means England. If the rest of the UK, then the UK.
