Maybe you could take Art at school and take a Graphics class out of school. Or vice versa.

if it affects your career
you must be able to

Punch an authority figure in the face.
(No, actually, don't do that. Do what GameHutSoftware said or something.)

Talk to the head of the school. Maybe he can sort something out
We were told to complain if we had issues but if I'm honest it'll do nothing. :L
Our school is USELESS.
So, you haven't talked to anyone from the school? If you haven't, really do try. It'll at least make more progress than gaining the sympathy from people many miles away who can't do anything about it.

Before you say I'm being whiney; the inability to take the Graphics could affect my job prospects. To get into animation you pretty much need both Art & Graphics. ._.
So I have to do Expressive Arts instead :l
Actually, not really. Anyone can take an Arts and Graphics course and draw/design well, so it's kind of a mundane thing (and to a certain point, a throwaway/replaceable skill). You need something else that specializes more in the skills of animating, whether it be storyline, programming, animation production techniques, sound recording, acting, etc.
So Expressive Arts is not a bad thing in this case because it gives an insight into expressions, how storylines are designed, etc. which are useful skills for animation anyway. Might as well have something that will make your resume/application pop.
It reminds me of that time where my other Chemistry classmates were wondering why I was taking Information Technology courses for electives instead of science ones even if the IT courses were more business-oriented - only to see that nowadays that the skills I learned from those IT courses is what most people these days are looking for when hiring scientists these days.

Lol at how confused some people are getting :3
For the first 3 years of high school, we do the same old subjects ( which is all of them) , and in our 3rd year, we choose two of those subjects to do on top of the ones we HAVE to do for the next two years of high school.
And we can only pick them once, in that year.
I chose Graphics over art 'cus I can practice drawing, editing, colouring, etc at home, while I do not have the software to learn about graphics.
And then I chose religious studies as it's an easy A*. :3

For me English, Business, Geography and Maths are easier xD
I'm quitting History for my leaving my history teacher hates me. She checks my copy to try find fault with it, but she never can xD she snaps stuff out of my hand too, and gives out to me if I put my book on my lap, write down notes (about the class) or look up from my book >.> and she only criticises Leanda and me like this. She lets everyone else away with it. >.<

Why are your posts all totally unrelated or uninportant, like that one etc...?
Meh. Have you chosen GSCEs yet? Just to get an on-topic reply from you... ^^
My history teacher is a blithering idiot. ;_;

It's nationwide, the school doesn't choose what's in the blocks at all.

It does, the compulsory ones are decided & rolled out nationally but other non-complusory subjects can be edited & dropped by specific schools.

I school all the time as well! High 5!
In GCSEs I'd probably do (in addition to the compulsories) Spanish/French, RS and Drama (not so sure about that one).

This does seem a little restricting, especially as it will be set for life.
I recommend talking to a teacher or whoever decides these choices and ask for an exception.
If you are unable to change it, I suggest downloading Blender and borrowing a lot of books on it. [Blender is an opensource 3D animation tool which I love. ] Play around with it for a few weeks and see if you enjoy it. If you do, and if they still will not let you, try taking an art course outside of school.
Don't become fixated on just that one career option. There are many, many different paths to becoming an animator.

They also give us colour groups, that like, recommend what we should take. I'm in pink, which means they recommend that I do mostly academic subjects. Which means I have to take a language. And I hate languages! Surely it should be our choice as to whether we take a language or not![/rant]I hate languages. We HAVE to take French seeing as our school is too cheap to get new teachers.
;__;
Yeah, next year I have to take spanish or french. I HATE taking languages. We did a little Swahili this year and I HATED it.

Swahili? Wow, our school would never do a language like that. We're only allowed to do the "main" languages, such as French, German and Spanish.
