My Minecraft topic got closed before I got to make my point so I thought I'd continue it here. I said that Minecraft was overrated and suddenly a bunch of diehard Minecraft-addicted people started accusing me of have never even played Minecraft! I review games all the time and I would never review something without first playing it!

I don't really care if you think Minecraft is overrated. Yeah sure, I may be a fan of it, but that doesn't mean I can hate on your opinion.
Another thing, I think you should just keep this opinion to yourself. Did you not expect people to hate on you? I don't really think you provided a valid reason about not liking it either.

Your other topic was closed because you really didn't have any discussion points, so it was just flamebait, and there was actually another similar topic with the exact same name just a day before. Or at least that's how I understand it. If there are specific aspects of Minecraft that aren't to your tastes, I'd be willing to discuss those with you. smile

Also, was this Minecraft Classic or 1.1? Have you bought the game?

I didn't understand why you posted the first thread, giving no reasons at all for your answer. But this thread is absolutely pointless, because it just seems to be flamebait. hmm It's actually pretty much spam. The other thread was closed for a reason, and the only possible answer I see here is that you want more Minecraft fans to go "It's not overrated!" and argue with you. If you post an argument thread with no explanation, people are going to get upset.

As Daroach said, don't forget to add "Classic" after every time you've said minecraft.
Play the full game and you'll understand us. Classic and Full are two entirely different worlds that look the same at this point in development.

Minecraft is slightly overrated. People treat it like a god game, but it's not.

It's not a bad game, either. It's actually somewhere in between. I play minecraft (full version) in creative mode (sometimes survival). I'm a creative person and the game suits me.

It's a simple idea which Notch did right, although he was starting to get worse and worse towards the end and he left it to Jeb. He kinda rushed the end and didn't really think through the idea of endermen at all, the end also killed off quite a few servers. Once it's fully moddable we can see it turning into a do whatever you want type of game.
