Hey DJ_BlueJay! Unfortunately, you cannot become a curator while you are a new scratcher. Keep scratching and being helpful on the forums and eventually you will graduate and can reapply! Good luck!

Hey! I can't remember if I posted on here or not, i spent so long wondering whether I should be a curator or not I can't remember if I did request to be one on here.
Anyway, I am an experienced scratcher, who made the most successful advertising thread in scratch history that reached over 5000 views! I have also been voted a total of three times to be featured (Generation:3000 twice and Panders Quest once) but I didn't let Paddle2See feature Panders Quest because it was not finished, and Generation:3000 sadly didn't work on his flash player.
Also, I would bring world peace. Joking, this isn't a beauty pageant. I would look for projects that inspired me. Sadly, most of the projects which actually did inspire were already quite famous enough, and I don't want to waste front-page time on projects already well known. I would have picked Doodle Zoo, Space Invaders and Unpredictable, but only the latter is not popular, and by the sounds of things it is gaining popularity quite quickly. I've still got plenty of time to think though, as like with every other curator, I'll probably have to wait a while before becoming one, IF I become one.
In general, I've made good games, meaning I am experienced and can provide knowledge. I gave advice for speeding up projects here, and I also advertised for scratchers here! I've done little "bits and bobs" for scratch, and I hope that you all at Scratch Team appreciate it. Thank-you.

Wow, I'm surprised at the popularity it's had in the 24 hours it's been up!
Are you gonna add it to your advertising thread? I submitted it
EDIT: Oh, I see you already have
Thank you!

I would be interested in being a Scratch curator.
Each time I would chose 1 project that is helpful, 1 project that has good programing, and 1 random project that shows that the maker tried their best.

Hello ubertech and Benjbob! Unfortunately, neither of you can become curator's until you graduate from being a new scratcher. Keep working hard, and be helpful on the forums and you can be a scratcher in no time. Then you can reapply!
Best of luck, ~plb

I would really like to be a curator. However, I am still thinking about some things...
What if the current "curator" picks a violent project? It'd be shown off on the frontpage for about a week...
Well that person might loose theyre currator job... and that project would be flagged by then probably.

I would be interested in becoming the Scratch curator. I would select applications that are games or stories that deserve to have views but do not. I have some experience with Scratch applications, but I don't have any monster applications. Let me know...

I would like to be a curator to add hard worked projects that are not paid attention to to the front page. Sorry about bad grammar.

I am mattb777, and I am applying to be a Curator. I have been on the site for 6 months. I have seen many great projects that have been neglected by the Scratch Community. I hope that I can have the ability to make those projects noticed by many Scratchers. Newer Scratchers can use the projects as inspiration for their own projects. The older Scratchers can finally see projects that would have been on the front page years ago. The best Scratchers that are unknown can finally "be in the spotlight". I understand if you didn't pick me, but I would be the best choice.

Sadly you have to be a scratcher and not a new scratcher I wish I could be on too.

Been awhile
Hmm... A curator seems like a big responsibility. I have now been on Scratch for I think about two years now. I was around when the curating began (Though I did not have an account). Since then I have wanted to be a curator, though that doesn't sound much different then the other one-thousand applicants. I realize that the Scratch Team want's a curator that will choose projects the community would appreciate. I believe that right now people want good animations, and games based on what I have seen. I will not choose projects now, but rather stage a contest where people can enter their animations, and I might choose them. I don't know if this is the way the Scratch Team would like me to do it. And I can change the way I select projects. There would be rules to entering the contest, like, you must have had an account for a month, the projects must have less than 100 views, etc. Now let's get to the checklist.
On often: | X
Knows the Scratch community well | X
Has had an account for a year | X
Never been banned | X
I believe that I check out. Also, I have been curated. So I know how I would want it done. If there is anything I have missed please inform me. Also, the Scratch Team wants a wide variety of Scratchers. They want gamers, storytellers, animators, boys, and girls. I post projects often, create awesome (or so I think... ) projects and am a great member in the community.

Now that I am a full scratcher I would LOVE to become a currator. I would pick funny ones, educational ones, and not just one topic; ill pick diverse subjects. I would pick some for all ages , meaning not too violent, Id pick some of my personal intrests and I will pick ones that I think the person did a good job on and put good effort into
I hope you consider me,

Hey Scratch Team! I'm reapplying again. I would write up a big long speech, but I've seen that that doesn't really help when I was browsing along this thread. So I'm going to try to be short, but I have a lot that I want to share.
1. The kinds of projects I like the best are games that show creativity and effort, and in particular I am fond of puzzle games but not ones that are too hard. I also like things that open up new ideas that have never been seen before.
2. The limits I would set on my curating would be under 60 views, and under 15 love-its, so that I would avoid picking projects that are going to be viewed a lot anyway's.
3. I am very active on the Scratch website and program, having posted over 50 projects in only 5-ish months and having written out 1653 comments. I have also become very involved and helpful on the forums.
4. If you look at my favorites, you will see projects that I really appreciate. Most are good, challenging games that are deserving of more views.
5. Lasty, I am very helpful to anyone that comes to me with a problem and I am very nice and put lots of thoughts into my comments and suggestions for improvement. For example, on my project Marble Maze, I was very patient in answering everybody's questions and concerns, and I always took their advice for improvement.
Some projects that I would curate would be:
Drawoodle by Luluthing Becuase it is a creative, simple, and fun multiplayer game.
aMAZEing by jojomon becuase although it has more views than my limit, it deserves many more for its intuitive concept and simple and addictive gameplay, as well as a cool soundtrack.
Slide by NetWeb becuase it brings simple gameplay concepts with a classic arcade feel and has a great inteface.
This is why I would like to be curator. I hope you consider my application, as I sincerely would love to be a curator.
Thank you! ~plb36
