First of all, congratulations! 
To have an animated GIF in your signature, you first need to upload it to an image hosting site. I use TinyPic, but there's many other good ones out there. Then, go to "profile>personality", and in the box, put this:

[img]URLofimagegoeshere[/img]
And you're done!

Works for any type of image. Make sure you're linking directly to the image though, not a page with the image.

When you are on the forums, click on "Profile" at the top, then click personality on the left, type in

Click submit. The maximum height is 150 pixels, so make sure the image isn't higher than that!

At the top of every page, there'll be the URL. For example, http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/post.php?tid=86926&qid=1104609 is a URL. Just copy that.
