ok this is a really dumb question, i know, but it seems almost impossible! What does it take? Maybe it's just because I'm new to scratch and I was wondering what it takes to be popular. smile

The most important aspect is advertising. Making a topic in the Show and Tell, adding lots of tags, and adding it to galleries are the biggest part.

Next is to actually make quality projects. If people look at your project and like it, they may friend you and look at your next stuff. They may also tell people about your project by Favouriting it.

It's rare that someone's first few projects reach the front page, but with perseverance, you can snowball your way up to it.

You can get projects on the front page when you're a New Scratcher, but it's a bit easier when you are a Scratcher. That being said, you will want to attain a Scratcher status.
If you get that, you can advertise in your signature, and if you post a lot, more people will see it. Like everybody else says, stay active on the forums and main site and you will get the status.
Of course, though, being a New Scratcher doesn't mean you can't get views on your projects. I would suggest following what Kileymeister said to do. smile

Follow what they said, but make friends, and make your projects cool looking with bright colors and good graphics.
