Why do you need to make an RPG? If I were you I'd start out with something more basic.

If you are starting out with scratch I suggest you start with something simpler like a short animation.

i got a half done rpg inbetween my projects aswell... its not easy, so id suggest starting with something a tad more basic

RPGs are pretty advanced, they take lots of variables (sometimes lists) and a lot of programming. tell me exactly what you need help with and i'll give you a couple of pointers
