I've been thinking about removing some of the project preview images used for the home page and to preview a project before the player loads.

I think it would be beneficial and save a lot of space on the servers.
Deleting 2,000,000 of those small images, assuming they are all 50 KB, will result in almost 100 GB of space saved. That would just require downscaling the large ones with the browser.
If you choose to delete the large images (going by 2,000,000 with images of about 675 KB) 1.2 terabytes could be saved! I think this would be the best option because you only see the ...med.png for a fraction of a second while waiting for PlayerOnly.swf to load.
Sorry if I sound like a salesperson but I really hope this will happen.
