Support, the whole net is.
The fewer resistors there are, the easier this is.I mean
I agree with disagreeing with SOPA
but
I don't know if I agree with shutting down sites
but I suppose if MIT has enough gravity
which it won't
but it will add
sure
also what I got from what you said was
"join the hive mind"
I think the shutting down sites is cool unless Pal shuts down

I passed it on to some other ST members for consideration. I think it's a pretty good idea myself - there's a lot of really scary stuff being taken seriously by our representatives in Congress. But, it's way outside my authority to say yay or nay on something like this - so I passed it up the authority tree

I'm actually scared that news of this got to major news outlets.
They all think the internet is a hell where all of the evil people live.
Seriously. The internet was assumed to be good when it was constructed. Wikipedia is designed for a huge number of people to share valuable information. YouTube is designed for people to share videos about their daily lives. Scratch is designed for young children to learn. deviantArt is designed to share creative works with the masses....
...and Fox News, the world governments, etc. are designed to make us look like we're terrorists conspiring some evil scheme against humanity.

I support!
When you go to scratch.mit.edu/* you should get a message that says something like "This website is offline to protest SOPA."

I agree totally, MIT is a powerful institute and if an place of such high stature protests against this it could sway others' opinions B)
Let's do thissssssss~

So, Paddle, how goes it with the rest of the ST?

We haven't heard back from them yet.
I'm pretty much on board with this, but, like Paddle, I have no authority on this matter. Like everyone else, I'm kinda waiting to see what the final word is. *twiddles thumbs out of boredom*
In the meantime, I saw this Facebook event where everyone is going to upload fake censor pics on their profile to make it look like some albums and wall images are blocked by SOPA or PIPA. I was planning to do something similar with uploading a Scratch project that looks like it's censored by SOPA or PIPA... imagine if on that day the Top Loved/Remixed/Viewed rows were filled with these images instead of your run-of-the-mill Scratch thumbnail to get the word out.
