Minecraft Isn't That Awesome! People Are Raving On About It And To Be Honest I Don't Really See What All The Fuss Is About. I Mean There Are Plenty Of Other Awesome Indie Games Out There Like The Bit.trip Series And Super Meat Boy. I Just Don't Really Seem Interested By The Big Craze.

We're the only people on the forums
And do you have Minecraft?
And I'm pretty sure there was another topic with exactly the same name as this.

I don't have it but I carried out a question that led me to possibly playing it very soon.

You have to play it to understand.
Until I got it I thought it seemed confusing and stupid.
Then I took an arrow to the knee when I got it.
The games that are big hits seem to be stupid at first.
Angry Birds?
Fruit Ninja?
Blocky world where you destroy and build stuff?
They all seem dumb, but they're SO ADDICTING!!!

I take it you've never played. Lots of people like COD but they're really stupid (AND I'VE PLAYED THEM) the first few were good but the nit went from "good storyline and good gameplay" to "bleh multiplayer hackers and redundant gameplay"

Geez, the minecraft fans are always so hypocritical. I've said this before, and I'll say it again. You complain about how "ew, you must have like never played it" yet you go on about how bad another game is.

I think that you have the right to your own opinion and I bloody respect it but I don't really think you needed to create this topic, mainly because there was a very similar topic recently and it's kind of flamebait because then we get Minecraftheads yelling about Minecraft, dissing on other games, the list goes on and on.

Aha.
You appear to not have played it, my poor poor friend.
It's a concept that has never truly existed before, and is therefore popular.
You may say "Umg infiminer existed before" or something along those lines, but you're only comparing it to CLASSIC.
Minecraft shoves together infiminer, some good parts of RPGs (such as enchanting and potions) and surviving the wilderness (A concept that has existed since who-knows-when) and yet still manages to keep it fresh and new.
It's fun.
It's creative.
And while minecraft isn't original at all in concept, and I won't try to make it seem that way, it's more original than super meat boy and bit.trip combined. There were many many rythm based games before bit.trip and there were also many platformers. Bit.trip only slaps a new face on them and calls it a day. While it's fun, and I respect that, you have NO RIGHT to call it more original than minecraft because it isn't.
Super meat boy is a platformer at heart, complete with secrets and bonus levels, as well as a frustration game. An interesting mix that wouldn't have worked out in any other way. Most frustration games suffer from lazy visuals and bad music, but super meat boy challenges both. While it's fun, it's still not more original than minecraft because both concepts existed before and nothing more than the basic elements of platformers were introduced in it. Death traps, moving death traps, bosses, and secrets.
As you can see, this topic is a mockery and foolish as well as hypocritical, someone who believes that bit.trip and super meat boy are more original than minecraft is far from correct.
Please excuse the stupidly wordy post, but it needed to be done. Anyone who believes that minecraft is bad needs a literary slap in the face. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.

Hahahaha, Cod's not stupid. You have much to learn.
It's the same game with different graphics and slightly changed story.
It's 70% cutscenes, 10% briefings, and 20% playing in singleplayer, and 90% hackers in multiplayer.
You call that not stupid?

We did just have a topic like this...and it does seem somewhat like flame bait, the way you have framed it. Your opinion would hold more weight if you verified that you have sufficient experience with the game to have given it a fair shake.
I'm sure a less confrontational approach would get you more useful information. Something like: What indie games do people like better than Minecraft? Why?
