My friend (not a member of scratch) got a virus from a fake scratch 1.5. Of course I know it was someone faking it. I'm just warning not to look for scratch 1.5.

Thanks for the heads up but I think it should be pretty obvious if the Scratch team are only just working on version 1.3.
*Goes off to look for Scratch 2.0* Just kidding

LOL!
but how to get sigs is easy, find a picture you like, right click it, click on properties, copy the whole address, go to the scratch forums, click on your username on the top (make sure you're logged in), Click personality, and paste what you copied in the box, then put [img]and[/img] tags before and after it!
Here's an example of how to do that last step: say i wanted to do the big smiley, I would do:
[img]. http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/img/smilies/big_smile.png .[/img]
(obviously with the periods and the spaces)
And it would come out like this in your sig:
As for text, you can type links or whatever in there as long as it dosen't interfere with the images.

Macs aren't invincible
Anyway, here's some advice: ONLY download Scratch from the official website (this one).

Me too, and It said "Adult Personals" in the Google ads!
Oh, and macs are invincible, as the only virus I ever knew of for Mac was one my freind made after telling me there wasn't any! *oops*. Shouldn't of told you that.

Macs are just Macs. They are not invincible. PCs are not invincible, maybe mine is (NO VIRUSES!!!). idk. Macs are just Macs. No computer is invincible. That is just your opinion, not a fact.

The reason some people think macs are invincible is because so few people use them that there's no reason for others to make viruses for them.
But that could change. Lots of people are switching now, we might start seeing more viruses for macs.

I will switch some day.... when the price gets lower that is. Right now, I use XP cause I'm used to it, and: IT'S CHEAP! Microsoft is going to stop supporting XP, but will ?sell? it until ?April? 2010.

Yeah... Right now I could download some BSD, Carbon, etc. compiler and learn how to use it, and create a Mac virus and tell everyone it's a modified version of Scratch.

the only way to never get viruses on any computer is to not use the internet, don't install programs and don't use removable storage devices (eg. usb, sd etc) and thanks for telling us about this.

Okay, okay, stop arguing.
a) macs are not invincible, very few viruses are made for them.
b) PC's are then the worse choice
c) PC's have way to much security (did it ever occur to them to make the security in, say, 2000, when computers were actually worth a lot?)
d) You can't get a virus if you don't have any way for the computer to interact with the outside world [e.g. internet, disks], so if you have no internet and don't really use any disks other than official ones, you really shouldn't have a problem.
e) FOR A REAL VIRUS-FREE COMPUTER, LINUX IS THE CHOICE - NO VIRUSES ARE MADE!!
Thank you all for listening to my ranting!

I know a way to mess up a computer completely.
Warning: You must have read the book Speaker for the Dead or Xenocide.
Just create Jane and have her (or "it" unless you've read Children Of The Mind which I'm currently reading...) destroy everything on the computers so they just don't work. ^ . ^

thats kinda stupid to say that i shouldn't have told you that in a forums because you can go back and delete what you say and not just say oops i shouldn't have told you that like if there was a password to launch all the nulear missles to Russia and you told it to the world and just type oops shouldnt have told you that it wouldnt make sense.....but i know you were just kiding about what you said.

Viruses ARE made for Linux, but it's the same as the Mac's case; since there are so few viruses, the anti-virus databases are updated quickly. In fact, Linux is widely used by "bad" hackers.
