Humans are social creatures, communication and interaction are essential to our mental and emotional well being. All the people in my life are part of "society". I like my friends more than I hate my enemies, so I like society. Do some prejudices and some individuals subtract from society? Sure. But society as a whole, in my opinion, is good.
