Need a good name to describe experienced and helpful Scratchers

We need help brainstorming a word to describe experienced, friendly, helpful, and generous Scratchers.

Here's one way to think of it:
Some New Scratchers will invest the time and energy it takes to become...
Scratchers, and some of those will take the time to become super-helpful and kind leaders in their particular part of Scratch, and will become...
[?????????] Scratchers.

The word should work to describe experienced, friendly, and respectful Scratchers from all corners of Scratch - RPGs, game-makers, artists, and all.

Here are some of the ideas we've tossed around, but which never seemed quite right. I'm listing them here just to give you an idea of the kinds of thing we're looking for.:
Elder Scratcher
Scratch Sensei
Scratch Helper
Scratchero
Scratch Spokesperson
Scratch Sage
Scratch Mentor

[Note: It doesn't have to be an already existing real-word. Feel free to suggest stuff you just made up, but which sounds good to you.]

Please suggest away!

Renowned Scratcher.
Distinguished Scratcher.

I am pretty against this idea though, as people will only ever listen to them and normal Scratchers won't be able to give help.

Interesting point! There is a risk of that, I agree. But it doesn't seem to be the case now, with moderators. People still listen and get help from other Scratchers.

Actually I was replied to rudely for trying to tell someone that bumping their topic every 10 minutes is against the guidelines, Paddle then came in and said 1 or 2 bumps a day and he listened, the excuse was apparently because I was being immature, although what I said can still be seen and I was polite all the way through.

I suggest a "reputation" instead, a number under your post count which tells you how many people found them helpful to the community.

Re: Need a good name to describe experienced and helpful Scratchers

Guru Scratchers/Scratch Gurus
Guiding Scratchers
Contributed Scratchers/ Scratch Contributors
Meritorious Scratchers
Recognized Scratchers
Achieved Scratchers

I personally like Guru. Contributors seem more to be referring to the Scratch Team and Community Moderators. (who all are doing a great job)

The idea of a new 'rank' is acceptable, as it could pump up and socialize the Scratch community.
But as 'my-chemical-romance' said, this could cause over-centralization of the forums, as New Scratchers might only bother to ask the advanced Scratchers.

I say a good distribution among the 'ranks' is needed, and we'd have to think of the objectives and requirements to become this 'advanced rank'.
That way, we could still maintain diversion between user communication, and adjust it to be as near as possible to a happy medium.

Just my opinion.  smile

I like the idea.  smile
But wouldn't that be similar to the new rank mentioned above?
Since the 'title' would represent your helpfulness to the Scratch community, displaying how many people found your projects helpful just seems like an alternative way to show the 'rank', if you get what I mean.

Nonetheless, still a good idea.  smile

Sorry, guys. No ninjas.  smile  Remember, this has to work for all different kinds of Scratchers. Some may like ninjas, but not all.

(And also, you may have noticed we're not too into violent stuff...)

I'm guessing it's for two reasons:
1. It shows the users who are especially helpful.
2. It gives Scratchers something to aim for, that's easier to achieve than a Moderator.

Full Scratcher
Advanced Scratcher

That's all I've got right now. Don't you think there should be more specific requirements for how to become a ??? Scratcher. Who would promote you? How would they decide how to do it? Would they find you or would you have to apply? These should probably be resolved before this idea becomes applied.

Old Scratcher?

Old is the opposite of new.

But you know, I don't think there will be a problem on who to listen to. When asking for help, some people listen to New Scratchers...

It's for helpful Scratchers, not ones that have been signed up a while.
