Re: Minecraft Official Topic

So what exactly is the difference between 1.1 and 1.0 other than spawner eggs?

Sheep regrowing wool, which should've never been removed in the first place. And they also eat grass, not sure about the other mobs though.

Oh cool, they also added multi languages I think. Doesn't seem like that big of an updat though, I was hoping for newer mobs etc...

Wow, one of the bow enchantments is so overpowered: It gives you infinite arrows as long as you have at least one in your inventory.

First download Winrar.
Go run %appdata%
WITH the %'s!!!
If you are using windows 7 there will be a roaming folder, go in that.
Go into ".minecraft"
Go into "bin"
Rightclick on the thingy called minecraft.jar Note: Minecraft must be closed
Open it with Winrar
Unzip your mod and modloader.
Now, leave that up and go into your modloader file.
Drag those files into the minecraft.jar
It should ask you if you want to copy them in, hit yes.
Drag in the mod files. If it is a good mod it should have a folder called "Jar files" Or similar. Or maybe just files sitting there not in a folder.
Drag in those files.
If there is a folder called "recourses" we will get to that later.
Now, there is a folder called "META-INF"
Just outright delete that.
You may now close the minecraft.jar
Now, if there is a folder called "recourses" inside the mod folder you will need to do the following.
Go back into the ".minecraft" folder.
Now go into "recourses"
Copy and paste the files in.

Have fun!

That's not necessary; the %appdata% variable automatically directs you to the AppData\Roaming folder.
Also, your "guide" doesn't distinguish between ModLoader and non-ModLoader mods. ModLoader mods will not require anything to be put in the JAR (aside from installing ModLoader itself). Instead, you will put something in the mods folder, and sometimes something in the resources folder. (The mod's readme should tell you where to put stuff.) However, not all mods require ModLoader (as the one that slapperbob's trying to install seems to do), and they will require you to put stuff in the JAR and delete META-INF and all that. (And speaking of META-INF, IIRC, you should only delete the MOJANG_C.* files in the META-INF directory on a Mac.)
And IMO, 7-Zip is highly superior to WinRAR.

Yawn.
