Well, the British used the spelling first. That was before N.I entered the UK, so it is British.

I dunno if this is bad or not but I quite liked Wonder Woman and Green Lantern from the New 52. Ted Kord was awesome though.
And villains... I dunno. I haven't read enough comics for that. 

One of my favourite villains is Moriarty from the BBC TV series Sherlock. And also the Silence from BBC's other series, Doctor Who.
