Okay, my day in MC: Built a house, mined diamond and put in chest. Died by falling off of my house-cliff, and respawned far away from my house. I fell in a dry riverbed, with no way to commit suicide. I have no supplies except 3 pumpkins and a bookshelf. I've been trying to get out of the riverbed and find my house for the past, say, four hours.
Yesterday, I forgot to go on peaceful, and a creeper blew up my mine. Of TNT. (place where I store at least, 300 tnt.)
So, um, yeah, I hate creepers.make a bed and sleep in it, that becomes your new spawn point
And doesn't the Enter key set your current position as your spawn point, or is that just Classic?

I thought that the difficultly settings (with the exception of peaceful) only affected how much damage mobs did, not how much they spawned.

Ok this is what the wiki wrote about peaceful: "Player regains health over time. Hostile mobs do spawn, but are removed from the game instantaneously. Switching from any other difficulty setting to Peaceful results in existing hostile mobs, except for wolves (only when attacked) and tiny slimes (which are hostile but cannot harm you" Proof?

Heh. Everyone else is arguing about the level of fun you get from playing on Peaceful.
