Recently today I was struck with an epic idea: connecting all of our servers' chat via a bukkit plugin. Basically, whenever you typed something in chat, it would broadcast to all servers, like this:
[Eye of Storm] 16Skittles: Does this work?
[Scratchia] Nervesplitter: Online here.
[Edge of Blade] Sunrise-moon: Yep :D
(My lawyers told me to add that this chat above never actually happened)
Basically, either we use a plugin like Raddachat or we could all hook up to one IRC server. The benefit of Raddachat is that all we need is a plugin, but it's completely unsecure. IRC is unsecure as well, but the server hosts could set one up without giving the url and channel so that it would be in the config files but nowhere else.
So, server owners, do you want to give it a shot?

Will it be in the regular chat or in a separate chat?

Sounds cool. Might do this for my new server (which may never come out, BTW.)

That would be sort of cool in some ways but not so great in others. It would also be a bit complex..

The regular chat, although we could use multiple IRC channels if more were needed.

It seems like it could lag a lot, and sometimes it's best to just talk to your own server, as rules are different.
