Well it COULD be considered a shooter.
In my opinion it isn't but the only reason the original portal was rated T was because it was a portal GUN.

In a way, MC has good graphics. The graphics are part of it's charm. It just wouldn't be as fun if it had models with 3 million polygons each, Shader Model 4 and 16x Antialiasing.
