I don't understand why people talk about they're personal life on Scratch Forums. It's just kind of awkward. Like, if I had a girlfriend or whatever, would I talk about it on, Scratch? For the rest of the world to see? I mean, it's understandable if you don't have like, Facebook (really pointless, in my opinion). But, why not just ask your parents or friends or whatever? Yes, I know that sometimes it's hard to talk to parents to things like that, but it's just weird posting it on a site where 7 year olds can see about your personal life. SO, no offense to people who do do that, because you are problably going through some hard times. But, just, don't do it, for the community's sake. Please.

Believe it or not, some people actually like to read that kind of stuff. They can help a little.

You get a high-five for posting one of the most reasonable topics ever.

Some people don't have any friends to talk to. Though, I do agree its quite annoying when people keep taking about their love life.

What did you expect.
We go on these forums to discuss stuff, and personal stuff is going to come up at least a couple of times.

I think being able to post about your social life on Scratch is an opportunity to learn from other people's situations. Like if someone posted that they just broke up with their boyfriends/girlfriend and needed help on how to get over them, other people going through the same situation would be able to learn from the posts of advice other people would give, thus making the Scratch community wiser and happier.

I guess people think of online communities as a substitute for getting advice on personal issues. They think that because no one knows them online, then there's nothing wrong with it. Alternatively, it could also be for attention.
I'm not a big fan of them either, for one thing you don't know who is giving the advice so you don't know how well that person is suited to be giving some kind of advice in the first place, the second is that it's posted online for anyone to see and anyone can take advantage of that situation. Both cases I kind of find to be negative, if not dangerous, at times.

Cheddargirl- stating another wise comment and answer to the situation that makes my post look supersized.
