So I have thought up of a small idea to keep the Misc area a little more for Misc topics.
I think it should be a Social discussion forum, where people can post about stuff like "What did you get for Christmas?" and "What do you imagine me as in real-life?". That way for those of us that know what Misc and Inspiration and More was originally meant for (topics non-related to any other category in the forums, but still has a small link to Scratch, programming, technology, something to learn from), we can put our discussions there.
The original idea was thought up in this post/topic: http://scratch.mit.edu/forums/viewtopic … 6#p1077816

I think that it might help Miscellaneous, but I'd imagine that there would be a large increase in those social discussion topics - yeah they'd be in their own forum, but plenty more social discussion topics mean plenty more work for the moderators :S
I don't know how hard it is to moderate social discussion topics, but they're probably harder than most.

This sounds good, I had a similar idea: click here

I disagree, if we separate sociability from topics then it would cause more moderation work, getting from forum to forum to close topics and remove things inappropriate or not allowed on the forums. (ie: spam, topics about politics, religion or sexual orientation)

They are.
In consideration that some (though not all) social discussions are better handled off the forums like some other topics that are discouraged in the Miscellaneous forums, personally I'd stay away from creating such a space and, instead, would like it better to find an offsite space to talk about these things, one that's under much better supervision and guidance than what can be given under the current resources that Scratch has.
