Idea for [img] tag issue.

I suppose everyone saw mattb777's suggest, which I think was really good.  So what about a rule that meant you could only post an image every 30 mins, and you had to manually enable the [img] tag?  Therefore, the tag will work, but the image won't be visible on the site until a mod/admin views it.

This could also reduce the amount of meme images posted, making threads load quicker and less pointless images.

What do you think?  smile

That's another good idea, but we don't know if those trolls were human or not.

Ouch. I'm 99% sure they were human. Cheddar said they had even had a good record on Scratch, no previous misbehavior.

Re: Idea for [img] tag issue.

We can't really do the "mod approved" idea... It would be too much to ask of the mods & would take too much time. I do like the timed idea (as I've said on another thread) and the flagging idea  smile

They probably planned the troll attack before they even created the account. They might've just been nice before to get upgraded to a Scratcher quicker, and then posted the images as soon as they were upgraded  hmm
Anyway, I support!

Re: Idea for [img] tag issue.

How about 5 images per post, and you can post them every 3 minutes.

Of course.  Only Scratchers could post images, so of course they had been good for a while.

Anyway, I support.

Re: Idea for [img] tag issue.

Well, many suggested lowering the time below four hours, but damage can be cause if the limit was below two. How about every two hours, and up to three images a post? That would be more safe than CheeseMunchy's 5 images per post every 3 minutes (ouch!) or your 10 images a post, images every 30 minutes. Who would post 20 images every hour and not be a spammer? Surely 2 a post and a two hour wait are more safe.

Re: Idea for [img] tag issue.

Well, Paddle2see said he "Kind of likes the 60 second limit."
But I think it would be better as a 3-5 minute limit.  hmm

30 minutes? There is barely any point to having images when you have to wait that long.  hmm

Actually, I find that if you're using images for the main purpose of the Scratch forums (helping others with their projects), thirty minutes is more than adequate. I see no reason to allow images for a shorter limit if their only real use is in Miscellaneous.
