Exactly. I honestly don't see the point.
I'm sorry, Scratch, but you have let me down... those threads are like an outlet for us. Some LGBT people can not talk to others and need a place to do so...Same. The discussion was not THAT bad, if you exclude the people that say either:
'LGBT is stupid/unnatural/why is this on Scratch hohohoh'
'Why do we need this? It's inappropriate.
or
'Ew you kiss other girls ewew cootiessss!!!!11!1'
I really think this was a bad move, ST. Sorry. You're making it look like LGBT is inappropriate and alienating people in that group. Just my opinion, I stress.
At least it was a good debate rather than 'I just got Minecraft'. -.-
People have a right to self expression and it helps people get to know each other better.
Sexuality is no less important/personal than favourite band; or eye colour.
Just saying.
+1
Yes, cheddar, I read what you said, but I still believe that this post is right.

If you are banning this, you should also ban questions on how to deal with crushes, which I have seen a lot on Misc. Yes, I understand it's not exactly the same thing, but it's not really fair otherwise.

Hmm, maybe I will.
Many people do misunderstand it.
I encourage you to do that.
The rule described in this post applies to the Scratch forums - not to the website.

True. Since some topics about this will bring this banned topic back up.
Let's say a user called failboard (I just fired up the username generator there) is a girl and has a crush on a girl. That brings it back up likely.

Or simply a discussion about failboard having a crush on a boy. That isn't fair to allow this but not LGBT topics.

Yeah, I was stating how failboard has a crush on a girl because it is more likely to bring up and LGBT-related discussion.

Alas, this topic has shifted away from the announcement of forum threads concerning sexual orientation being forbidden to sexual orientation itself; basically, the thread has turned into what it told itself it couldn't be.
So, please, back on topic.
I was right all along.

I'm working on the project. It's called "Understanding: LGBT".
I hope people understand more after I officially post it

I'll throw together something like that when I get a chance. If I get a homophobic comment, I will flag and delete it.

Ornamentation? What? It's "orientation". It means what gender you like.

There are some people on here who are under 15 and know their orientation. Are you saying they should not tell anyone who they like until they're 15?

I'm under 15 and know mine. Most learn it around 10, actually. I'm gonna clarify how age isn't a factor in my LGBT project.

Well, in my school it would be 8, actually, since that's when most people had their first crushes in my school.
Oh, and generally it is based on your first few crushes and the ability to relate to interest in genders from others you know.

I was weird about kindergarten crushes. I didn't understand that you should love someone to marry them. So, when I was about 5, I wanted to marry this boy that was my best friend. A couple years later, when I found out about homosexual marriage(though I didn't really understand it), I wanted to marry this girl in my class.
But that's not really defining of my sexual orientation.

Please flag any disrespectful or homophobic comments you see on Scratch. Flagging will delete the comment anyway if it's on your project, so you don't have to worry about also deleting it.
Flagging sends us a message so we can follow up and notify the account about the community guidelines, and take further action if necessary.
And finally...

I think threads about piercings and Doody's Puberty threads have really pushed the limit. I always thought that the Mischellenous forum was for discussing interests, like video games or recent movies.

Some threads we actually are questioning (the crushes thread is one of them). There are just some topics that are probably better off under adult supervision rather than using the Scratch Forums as a [terrible] substitute for getting advice on personal stuff.
