Still, free is better. Neilwest summed up some good reasons, plus my reasons make the Wii ultamitly a better console.
And I added 2 more!
Does wii have indie games?
Yes. Look at WiiWare. It's the same thing as Xbox Live Arcade.

Xbox is using minecraft as a last ditch effort to get more fans.

What's so good about Indie games? They are basicly games made by a small team.

Yes, and they range from around 1-5 dollars.
Some of them are fantastic for the money.
There's one downside for wii.

Yes, and there are also some great games in WiiWare:
The Bit.Trip series; An action-packed original series which are hard but are addictive from start to finish!
LostWinds; This platformer dosen't use buttons, not even teleporting. You use the wind to control your little person through the challenging levels. A creative idea shown amazingly.
Virtual Console: eBay to risky? Too young to remember the good old days? Well, you can get the Sega, first three Nintendo and Commodore console games at a WiiWare price! Still the same game, but now easier and legal to get!
These are just three well known WiiWare games/applications out of loads or other original, exciting games from WiiWare!

They have Halo. That's what got me hooked into the XBOX.

I would say tie between Wii and Xbox. Xbox has much better graphics and online features, but most of the Wii's first-party games (aka the games Nintendo made) are just awesome. A game doesn't have to be a shoot-em-up to be awesome.
PS3 is overpriced and even though PSN is free, I wouldn't want to use if I can't trust it with my email address and passwords.

I prefer Xbox Elite, for several reasons:
Firstly, exclusive games: we are all aware that few games can be considered AAA, Mario used to be AAA, but has been reduced to a lower game because of it's clear repetitiveness. Each new mario game is doing the same thing, but in a different background. Playstation exclusives end up focusing on graphics rather than gameplay, which makes it look amazing, but ends up in the bargain bin.
The Xbox exclusives, however, seem to stand out. Halo, for instance, seems to challenge the might of COD and battlefield. Forza has overtaken Need for Speed. The fable series set the foundations of many RPGs today, including Skyrim, because of it's introduction on ultimate customisation and different endings. This makes the exclusives the best out there.
Secondly, Kinect. The Wii did amazing work, setting the foundations for motion-gaming, but soon became outdated. Playstation's system is a rip-off of the Wii's system, while the Xbox took motion-gaming to the next level. No controllers. This makes the Xbox revolutionary in the field. Until the next step is taken, Microsoft stays well ahead in this area.
Thirdly, online. I'm not even going to talk about the Wii's dreadful online system. The Playstation's PSN hacks and difficulty to find friends is shameful.
I want to say this once and for all... YOU CAN GET LIVE FOR FREE! If you have Silver membership, it's free. It's the same with PSN and PSN+. one is free and the basic online, one is paid for and has extras.
Xbox live is made brilliantly; friends are easy to find, connection level is put to it's full usage, and it's interface is simple.
Fourthly, the console itself. The controllers are moulded to fit your natural hand shape, and it has actual triggers instead of meek buttons the PS3 uses. And the slim version is beautifully designed, it is amazing.
I shall put one more point, because I don't have the time to list all the great reasons, I only have 4 hours!
Finally, I point to the fact that most AAA game developers support the Xbox, having the Xbox logo at the end of the animation, making it clear that this developer makes it's games to target the Xbox audience the most.

And how you knew it would have been "GREAT".
