Oh, sorry I didn't mean it like that. I was just asking if a stable release was ready, which I can tell it's not. We don't even have to do a trailer, it's not that important. I'm sorry you've been doing most of the work on this project. I will try to help some more.

Hm. I think the most basic stuff is done. We still have to:
1. Implement the shop fragment.
2. Enlarge the galaxy (in the moment it might be a bit too small, if it should make much fun exploring it).
3. Programm a fighting system (with enemys having an AI).
(4. Add a story and missions)
5. Add some special things, that make this game unique and different to the original one. I thought about:

-Something like a space restaurant, where you can eat, drink and gamble (easy to programm, but adds a lot).
-You could build special houses (like mines), that you could place on the planets by accesing a menu, that alpears when you click on a planet. These house whouldn't be sightable on the planet. They can be managed and upgraded in a menu.
-A place, where you can buy new spaceships, repair and upgrade them.

...Just some thoughts. But to come back to the old trailer question, the quality and the fun of the game mustn't suffer just because we announced it too early, and we had to bring it out as fast as possible. So if you really want to go on working on the trailer, do it. But better work more on the actual project, the game. I listed the things, I thought the game would need. Now it's up to you to help making it a great success.

The bit about mines sounds a lot like Star Knights, were you could build mines, refinery's, factory's etc.
Star Knights also had a similar system to the one that I see being described often in this thread.

I made 2.4. You don't need to download that one, too. I just remade the menu (it's looking awesome now) and made a new costume for the spaceship. BTW: The next thing we need to work on, is a better flying engine. I tried to make it for this version and failed badly. What about you, Thrystor? You already made the gravity stuff. I think, things like acceleration and turning the starship when pressing left or right are still missing. Because this is really basic stuff for games like that, we should make this first.

Oh, and yes, I did like the promotional picture. It will come in handy if we ever need to use it. I think I may have an idea for a better spaceship movement..

Thanks for that.
I looked at it and also changed some things. The intro was a bit too long and space needing, so I added a Skip button and changed the moving account pictures (like kamesh's) into simple pictures.

Hm. We have to work (as I said it some posts before) on a better flying engine. Dinoclor said, that (s)he is interested in making it, so in the moment not. When (s)he's done with it and we fixed all bugs that might appear, we'll look for the next things to program.

If you want to make some graphics, what about designing some starship graphics (Not bigger than the current player starship costume), that would be used to make the AI ships look more varient. They can look like normal starships or even like flying saucers. Make as many as you want. At the end, we are going to pick the best ones out and use them for the game. Interested? If yes, draw them and then save them as PICTURES at the dropbox (might need to make a new folder).

Because my parents said, the flying saucer shooting at the big red planet at the promotion pictue, would look more like a plumber's helper, I edited the it. The one on the dropbox is updated, but not the one in the game. I'm going to wait until dinoclor done his programming.

By saying 'plumber's helper', do you happen to mean plunger?

Nvm, I know what you mean now (I know the difference between a plunger, and plumber's helper or 'snake' now)....

By the way, I speeded the 'Monologue' part of the Intro so people wouldn't be so apt to click skip, because they want to get right to the game. Check it out (0.3.2).

I think we should get a spaceship like the one in Space Up by BIG-RED-BUTTON. I looked at the script, and I think a way to make the spaceship more realistic is to not make the ship move with the outer space scrolling system. What I'm saying is we should have separate scrolling systems: one for outer space, and one for the ship. However, one downfall to this is we would have to make the ship move just at the right speed where it won't fly off the screen (too fast) or fall off the screen (too slow). Just a thought, I don't know how well this would turn out.

When I made the engine, I was just learning how to make things turn in scrollers using trigonometry, but now that I'm more experienced I could make 360 degree movement with velocity, if that's what you're thinking of. I'm going to look for more problems in the original, and I'll update it as 2.5. I'll also make a second version of 2.5 with the controls I described.

Well, I found the problem. When you press space at any time, it broadcasts the signal to start the game. So the sprite with the story panels puts up the panel that you see in the beginning of the game. What is spacebar supposed to do, though? I know what the problem is, but I don't know how to fix it. This is the point at which I begin to wish that the broadcasts and variables had names a little bit more informative. Oh, well. And then motion: I see you've already hired someone to do that. Do you still want me to take a shot? Like I said, I think I know how to make it work. And on the intro: I think the reason it seems empty is because it's missing sounds.

I noticed that too! I think I know how to fix it: get rid of it. I mean, how many times do we use spacebar in the game (not counting the intro).

By the way, I jumped from 0.2.4 to 0.3.0 when I updated the intro. I can rename everything if you want.

GUYS: 0.3.1 is now 0.2.6 and 0.3.0 is now 0.2.5 I'm putting 0's in front of everything because nothing is ready to be released (it's all beta, not stable).

And just so there's no confusion, we are currently at (0).2.7. Sorry for the confusion Dasbloekendeschaf and Thrystor and everyone else keeping up with this.
