Last night, I put my iPod on All songs > Shuffle.
I said to myself, "Wouldn't it be funny if a Jesus Christ Superstar song came on?" since I was just listening to it.
The first song to come on was the "Overture".
It went like this:
"Overture"
*One or two songs*
"Heaven on Their Minds"
*One or two songs*
"What's the Buzz" / "Strange Thing Mystifying"
*One or two songs*
"Everything's Alright"
*One or two songs*
"This Jesus Must Die"
*One or two songs*
"Hosanna"
*One or two songs*
"Simon Zealotes" / "Poor Jerusalem"
*One or two songs*
"Pilate's Dream"
*One or two songs*
"The Temple"
*One or two songs*
"Everything's Alright (reprise)"
*One or two songs*
"I Don't Know How to Love Him"
*One or two songs*
"(Censored even though it's not bad in context)ed for All Time" / "Blood Money"
*One or two songs*
"The Last Supper"
*One or two songs*
"Gethsemane (I Only Want to Say)"
*One or two songs*
"The Arrest"
*One or two songs*
"Peter's Denial"
*One or two songs*
"Pilate and Christ"
*One or two songs*
"King Herod's Song (Try it and See)"
*One or two songs*
"Could We Start Again Please?" (Downloaded this song from the movie soundtrack but couldn't find the other movie addition which is a song sung by Annas and Caiaphas)
*One or two songs*
"Judas' Death"
*One or two songs*
"Trial Before Pilate (Including the Thirty-Nine Lashes)"
*One or two songs*
"Superstar"
*One or two songs* (I didn't put "The Crucifixion" on my iPod because it's creepy)
"John Nineteen: Forty-One"
Discuss this and times like this.
Tl;dr: It's on shuffle (with over 300 songs on my iPod) and it played for me a whole musical.

Sorry, but I don't see what's so interesting about that?

It just did the same thing with "OK Computer".

You should add a Tl:dr for us lazy people.

Eh, shuffle mode isn't completely random, sometimes a shuffle mode algorithm picks up a bunch of songs from similar/same albums and plays them at close intervals. My mp3 player does something similar, shifting between songs from two or three folders so I usually end up going through an entire album within the first two hours.
If you want to attempt at increasing the randomness in shuffle mode, scatter your sound files in different places and don't organize them.

Sort of like Scratch then? In that it's not completely random, and sometimes follows patterns?
That's what I've noticed anyway, I don't know if it actually does.

Sounds like one time when these songs came on shuffle in this order:
Californication - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Dani California -Red Hot Chili Peppers
We Don't Need Another Song About California - My Chemical Romance
XDD I laughed for a whole 10 minutes~

If you mean like the random selection of the Top Loved/Remix/Viewed, I don't know how the front page algorithm works, but I think in that case other different factors play into effect as to why some projects seems to show up more often when one refreshes the page. Those channels are also have to abide by some rules (such as a person can't have a project on the front page if there's already another project up there), and the algorithm only shuffles through the first ten qualified to hit the front page - rules and small selection polls make it so it often looks like certain projects come up often when you refresh the page. I'd imagine the randomness would be greater if the selection pool was widened. Hmmm...

I meant the block in the actual program. I was just thinking that maybe the algorithm the mp3 player uses was similar to the one Scratch uses for the pick random block, as it seems that neither of them are completely random

That's like my sister's ipod. She puts it on shuffle, and it only plays the songs she listens to the most!
