The Invisible Blocks Glitch

I was making a 1s1s project once and the script was really big. One of my friends came over and we played together for a while. I'd totally forgot about it and when we came back to it, half of the script turned invisible. If anyone knows how to make them visible again, please reply.

Re: The Invisible Blocks Glitch

That tends to happen with really long scripts.
It's supposed to do that, I think, so that it doesn't use too much CPU usage, or something like that.

So do you know how I can make them visible so I can finish the project?

Sorry, I don't.
I'm sure you'll find the answer if you search around a bit though  smile

Yeah, RedRocker seems right. Though you might be able to fix it by remaking the script and uploading it to scratch.mit.edu then downloading it when you want to play again since the upload preserved the script  smile

Re: The Invisible Blocks Glitch

Probably the best thing to do is, save it, exit, and re-open it. Tell me if that works.  hmm

I'm glad I have a test account then  smile  But still, if anyone knows how to fix it in case of an emergency, this forum is still open  big_smile

Re: The Invisible Blocks Glitch

Save it, then close the program, open the program and open the project. I'm hoping it will work.

Re: The Invisible Blocks Glitch

Create a new sprite and drag everything from the 3rd bottommost-visible one and below to it, and script from there. Then you can put it back in the first sprite once it's done.

Re: The Invisible Blocks Glitch

Was the script completely GONE, or was it just cut off at the bottom? (It cuts off at the bottom sometimes when scripts are long.) Also try shutting down the computer then turning it back on the going back to the scratch program.  Maybe also you should try to put a few bloks out then it will come back. Idk wat happened-- maybe memory usage?  hmm

Re: The Invisible Blocks Glitch

All I know is that someone once told me this: Form a 1s1s game by breaking a script into manageable 'blocks'. Work with them until you think it'll work. Then, duplicate the sprite, and in the duplicate snap all the 'blocks' together, bottom to top. Test the game like that. If it doesn't work, delete the copy and work on the 'blocks'. If it does work, congratulations! Either delete the second sprite and put the 'blocks' together on the 'real' sprite, or just remove the 'real' sprite and keep the other. The script may turn invisible, but by then your project will be finished. You should, however, keep a copy of the sprite with the script still broken into 'blocks' just in case you want to make a sequel or update the game later. While I don't know how to make your script reappear, and I'm sorry about that, I hope that this can help this never happen again.  big_smile
