It's your decision: If you don't want to quit, don't. If you do want to, however, just quit. Although your, erm, "fans" might quit as well.
If you REALLY hate popularity, make another account and don't tell anybody about it XD

I have an idea. Maybe you should tell everyone you quit, but for real you will just move into second account without "doody" in the name of it. No one will know you did it and you won't be famous anymore.

you don't like being popular? that's interesting, but maybe your a bit swamped, there are few things you can do...
#1 create a new account
#2 go completely offline, you make all your games but don't post them online
#3 don't post any projects and forum posts for awhile, let your popularity die away

NO DON"t tell everyone you quit, because that will make you even more popular. Just silently move on to another account
