Haha, I've done something similar.
There's this kid who, from the back, looks just like my sister.
She was on her phone, which was a really expensive-looking one, and as a joke, I said
"Woah, did you steal that phone or something?!"
She turned round, and I realised it wasn't my sister.
I felt like the embarassment was gonna kill me

That was my reaction afterwards, but at the time I just wanted to get as far away from her as possible 
And the worst thing about it was that she knows my sister quite well, so then she told her all about it.
My sister still brings it up sometimes, just to embarass me
