There have certainly been a few cases in the past where people have made claims on Scratch of tragic events simply to gain popularity.   And that's a pretty sad thing...to deceive other people and manipulate other people's emotions for, essentially, their personal entertainment.

However, I would be very hesitant to accuse anybody of such behavior directly simply because it is essentially unprovable.   And if you are wrong...you will create emotional damage with your accusation.  The best policy might be to give your sincere condolences with the hope that they are not wasted on a fiction.

I suggest we take this advise and not rage at him for the possibly that he is lying. If he truly felt the need to mess with our emotions, wanting revenge will only lie in his favor.

I only wanted to alert people to the fact he may be lying, not cause chaos.

But if the person who caused it is a Skillet obsessed Blackie, then you can be sure of trouble c:
