But you have to be 13 or 14; I think it's 13.

A new scratcher is your status on the forums until you are active enough to be a scratcher. A coummunity moderator is elected by the scratch community. You have to be 13 and active for 6 months. Hope that cleared it up!

You need to be very active, helpful, and friendly to be a scratcher. However, to be a mod, you have to have a good history (ex: You don't have a history of being rude to everyone.),your account has to be over 6 months old, and you have to be at least 13 years old.

13. It was 14, but it changed after people complained.

The Scratcher status is because the Scratch team is trying to prevent spammers and trollers. (no feeding the trolls!) It's easy to become a Scratcher. To become a Scratcher, just be active on the Forums, the main website, etc. there used to be a 50 post rule to become a Scratcher, but the Scratch team changed it because people were just typing things like "akljdh", "g",and "this is a post". It now is a 15 day rule, but I don't get why I am still a New Scratcher and I've been on for 18 days. anyways, post helpful posts, be active, and I hear that even having proper grammar and good spelling in comments and Forum posts helps, but I'm not sure how much it helps.
You are currently a New Scratcher because you have not been on for very long and you don't have very many posts.
Moderators are [b] people who monitor Scratch. They are elected, they have to have a good history, and must be over 13 years of age. [b] The minimum age for moderators used to be 14, but people complained so they changed it to 13.
[color=purple] Hope this helps, and Scratch ( _meow_ ) on!

Post things on the main site and forums, to become a Scratcher. A Scratcher can post in Misc and has the 60 second rule, instead of the 180 second rule.
You can only be a mod if you are elected by the whole community, mod elections are held every 4 months.

I don't know about being a moderator but to be Scratcher you need to be active and have projects running. Post positive comments and help, not negative comments and things to put down others.

Fixed.
There isn't a 15-day rule, actually. A moderator has to upgrade you manually.

You must be very active on the forums to become a scratcher. There's a lot about seniority, but I'm not exactly sure how much.
The moderator status is given to very accomplished scratchers who have been on scratch for YEARS, and are active in both the forums and main website a lot. You have to be very, very loyal to scratch to become a moderator.
