60 seconds is hardly 'all day'
It was not commercial spam, it was inappropriate images
Mods aren't always online to delete spam so quickly

Some have. I've even seen some spammers who parse their time so it looks like they're not actively spamming a site so much until it's too late.
But now we're kind of getting off-topic.

There was a similar policy like that with signatures before to reduce commercial spam, all the spammers had to do was post in the forum with the required number of posts in order to get a signature. Believe it or not, its easier than you think, I've seen it happen. For example, a user go to the Show and Tell forums complementing on a project, or gives a greeting on the New Scratcher forums, or comments on how helpful a tutorial thread is - all of these look like legitimate posts.
I dont have 500 posts

I see your point with that, maybe we should seperate misc a bit more?
In order to get in you need to be a Scratcher, on misc your post count will start again (like with the TBG), 100 posts will allow you to have a signature and 500 will allow you to post pictures and URLs. I think this'd work much better, as spamming on misc is much harder to do and it will be noticed.

Will all our posts here be put in our misc count?

I don't think it'd be too hard to seperate the post count, I'd only lose 50 posts anway. Seeming misc is almost a different site compared to Scratch I think it would work.

Oddly enough, I'm not bothered by this at all.
Yeah, I have a signature shop, but I can just link to the pictures.
And like Paddle2See said on the thread in Announcements, "Look on the bright side. There will be less spamming and the forums will run faster."

This was 1 incident which has happened 3 times in the history of Scratch, and if the forums are running slow you can turn images off.
