QR codes are stupid.
You could just write a URL, which takes about half the effort.

they aren't just for urls... they can be used for urls, text, contacts, location, sms, email, phone numbers, etc.

QR codes are good for when having a URL would be stupid, like in ads or for informational signs (like at Longwood Gardens, they have QR codes on signs that link to websites that have more information on certain plants or history).
