Ok, so on the scratch wikipedia page, it said that of September, 2011, there were over 850,000 registered users. Currently there are 950,000. Thats 100,000 people in just under 4 months!

That's normal.

That's pretty amazing.
Scratch users are going up rapidly.

Actually only 250,000 of those have even made a single project.

they probably don't even know what the forums are yet.

The forums aren't the reason for the Scratch website being here you know

Who knows?
Some sign up on the website to post commercial spam on the website. But others usually sign up in order to download projects and/or for school reasons (and then they abandon the account when it's all done). Then there are those who create test accounts but rarely use them so they remain blank (*is guilty of having two blank accounts for testing*) and those who clean out their account (delete their projects).
[EDIT] Actually, I think could estimate based on the number of users who have been blocked for commercial spamming. It doesn't account for the spammers who signed up but have been put off by the New Scratcher restrictions, but it's a fairly good estimate since Scratch is a huge SEO magnet and hard for most spammers to pass up [/EDIT].

Yeah. I just hope that all the new users turn into Archmages and Prestiges and 08Jackts someday (in order of rise-to-fame).
