Anonymous hacked Statfort and with the credit card numbers, they spent over 1 Million dollars to charity...
what do you think about it? Is it wrong to 'steal' money from rich people to offer it to poor people (like robin hood)?

This is a tough one. Of course, it's illegal, regardless of what they do with the money, but seeing as they gave it to charity, that at least makes it less immoral. It's still a hundred percent wrong though.

It is wrong to steal. Full stop.

Exactly, even if its for charity o;

Anonymous fail.

I think it's that while it's illegal, it's morally okay.

Totally illegal, just slightly less immoral due to it going to charity. Just like RedRocker said.

Yep, as said above, completely illegal, but not immoral. Who says millionaires can't be "convinced" to donate?

how do you know the people they were stealing from are rich, and that they weren't already donating to charities?
i think we shouldn't ever be in a state where there are rich to steal from, nor poor to give the stolen materials too
but, you know, that's never going to happen

100% illegal, 100% moral, 100% not thought through.
It's just not legal to steal from anyone, whatever cause it is.
However, since it's for a good cause, they can be excused ethics-wise.
But did they not think that the people on there might not be rich?
By the way, my dad got an email from them saying he might be affected
But thankfully he wasn't.

There should be rich to steal from
Just not the poor
Without the incentive of being rich, people won't work hard. Thats what happens in communist countries.

Well, it would be stupid to steal from the poor and give it to the rich right? So why not do it like that

Morally good? So the good vs. the bad cancel eachother out? Just think, some of the people might have been left with nothing. Many of the people have been working like dogs their entire lives to get their millions. Suddenly, it's all gone.

You have to understand Anonymous isn't a standard operation. There are no leaders, if the hivemind likes an idea, the hivemind carries out the task. Not every operation under Anonymous is approved by all members.

How would you guys feel if someone took all your family's money and gave it to charity? Even though it would be for a good cause, I don't think you would be happy if your family had lots of problems with money because of that.

not necessarily
they don't need the incentive of being rich, just the incentive of knowing their work funds everything they could possibly need, everything their family could possibly need, everything their neighbors and friends could possibly need, etc
sounds good to me

It shouldn't be their choice of whom donates to charity. Imagine working a year to save up some money then find out someone else has decided it should go to charity.
Illegal, immoral and stupid.

best thing anonymous has done so far
still really bad though
