This is a tough one. Of course, it's illegal, regardless of what they do with the money, but seeing as they gave it to charity, that at least makes it less immoral. It's still a hundred percent wrong though.

how do you know the people they were stealing from are rich, and that they weren't already donating to charities?

i think we shouldn't ever be in a state where there are rich to steal from, nor poor to give the stolen materials too

Just not the poor 

Without the incentive of being rich, people won't work hard.  Thats what happens in communist countries.

You have to understand Anonymous isn't a standard operation. There are no leaders, if the hivemind likes an idea, the hivemind carries out the task. Not every operation under Anonymous is approved by all members.

I;m pretty the giving to charity was not out of kindness, it was so they could defend themselves- like a 'reason' for stealing. Or just as joke, to annoy everybody.

It shouldn't be their choice of whom donates to charity. Imagine working a year to save up some money then find out someone else has decided it should go to charity.

Illegal, immoral and stupid.
