Agreed ^^;;
You may as well say 'kids, for prom, you can't wear an interesting suit or dress, dye your hair a bright, unusual colour, you can't look interesting, you can't be yourself or break the mould because you'll hog the limelight'.
I don't care.
I have said many times to my friends that for prom, seeing as I HATE dresses, I am going in a suit or tuxedo. If I get turned away at the door, I'll batter my way in B)

If you were called, well, pretty cruel homophobic insults... would you just go 'hoho dude, it's cool. I'm gonna let you carry on being dumb to me. Hurr'?
If I were your parents, I'd have just complained to the school o_o
@blackdog - What's InuYasha? I'm not as into anime as Kane is D: My Neighbor Totoro, Akira, Street Fighter, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Soul Eater are the only anime shows I have seen ;__;I got back at them, my last day was one they will never forget.
And what pony should I draw?Haha, wow :3 Kane wasgoing to go to prom in a dress, but our stupid Head Teacher disallowed it. She said it was 'attention-seeking' on Kane's part.
Now THAT is biased, sexist, unfair, and so pathetic I could go on forever!
I dunno, just a funky-lookin' pony? Rainbow dash?
SHE KNOWS STINKIN' NOTHING ABOUT GAY PEOPLE.
I thought kids were allowed to wear anything they want withing the dress code!
Or maybe that's just my school.

That seems a little personal don't you think hurhurhur
This thread seems like it's a difficult one to just jump into
Which isn't necessarily a good thing, since I like jumping into things
Also this thread seems sort of patronizing tbh
I don't really believe in pride for things you didn't accomplish, like being a brunette or what you're attracted to, and acceptable things being running a marathon or painting something cool, but I heard this started an argument before so I'll keep off of that
So give me something to jump into

England. >.> And, uh, I know. They say for prom it is dress or suit. They don't say femail = dress, male = suit so what's the problem?

lol my friend Arthur went to Junior prom wearing a monkey suit. And not the fancy looking tux one, a real hairy monkey suit.
It was hilarious.

So basically your Head Teacher has NO STINKING RIGHT to say Kane can't do that.

Basically.
This happened one time in America, and this is a true story:
A girl wanted to wear a tux and bring her girlfriend to the prom, and instead of telling her she couldn't do it, they CANCELED THE PROM AND HAD IT IN SECRET WITHOUT TELLING HER.. I'm serious.

At least you don't live in certain places in the US.
You see, there are people there who think homosexuality should be punished by death. Now, we call these people "rednecks" or more political correctly "Conservative Christian Extremists". It's really terrible, and those kind of people are what make our country terrible.
+1.
I saw this guy on YouTube that said, "I don't force my opinions down your throat unless other people's rights are involved". I feel that way about gay rights (the guy from YouTube was saying that about his anti-spanking beliefs, but he's anti-homophobic as well).

Wa that Jamie: Drag Queen at 16?
I watched that. c:
Yeah, it was that show.

If he did go to the Prom or whatever in a dress, he would get made fun of more. The teacher was probably protecting him but also trying not to cause a scene at the Prom
Things like dying hair and wearing suits that stand out aren't in the same league as a guy wearing a dress

But if they feel comfortable wearing it in front of others, surely that's all that matters?

It's not just about them though. Teachers focus on the big picture

AHAHAHAHA
Teachers don't do spank about bullying. They prevented her from wearing a dress because it's against what they believe in.

One guy at my school wore a dress to school to protest LBGT discussion being banned. He got suspended.
This other guy in my school is gay, but keeps it on the down-low. A girl invited him over, forgot he was there, and changed her shirt. He reacted as if that was natural. That's not weird, right?

Anti-homophobe bot has sensed homophobia.

If that's not homophobic then nothing is.

I dunno if your school is different, but there's nothing in my school's dress code that says boys can't wear dresses.

Girls wearing suits isn't the same as guys wearing dresses? Hypocrite much? :S
He didn't care if he got laughed at, I was out with him today and he got lots of abuse but he shrugged it off.
No, the teacher specifically told him the only reason he couldn't wear a dress is because he would 'steal the spotlight' :L
