Re: The Sims 3 for scratch

I've already made an excellent Demo. But the illustrations are poor. I am looking for an
artist for my project, I will give you credit. I have all the controls down, perfectly.
Just to perfect  this project all I need is an artist. Will any scratcher out there
be willing to fill into the "Artist" job?  smile

Re: The Sims 3 for scratch

this would be a great scratch project.
Sadly, the task would be impossible for one person to create. the key to making a project like this is a collaboration. If multiple people send in bits and parts of scripts to perform some of the needed aspects of this or art that we could use,one could put them together and finish it. the collaboration would have to have a ton of people to send in parts.
We could make this project and we could make it well.

Umm...that was actually an advertisement for the Sims project I am working on at the moment and is to be released pretty soon if I finish the graphics within the next week.
justtrying, I agree with your comment but as there seem to be no actual collab producing actual results at the moment, I've just made this version, sort of like the Sims Social on Facebook but without the 'Social' part: eg, vector-ish graphics, skill levels (though for programming, dancing, writing and designing) house levels, furniture storage, experience points, land upgrades, 'Inspired' states, rare items, quests to follow and collectibles from the shop.
Although this project will be done soon (as it is the holidays), we could collab with some other enthusiastic Scratchers out there to bring YOUR vision to reality... smile

Re: The Sims 3 for scratch

I like the idea.. and it is possible... But with a game this complex, it's just not worth it. We could build a house and make a family.. But then when we went on it again, we would just have to start all over. There would be no saving options  sad

This project could work if you had one of the best progammers helping you... Maybe Archamage (probly wouldn't help a new scratcher) or... well... that's the only person who does collabs and has that kind of experience.

I agree, I am making a new project called Stickman 2 and can detect different 'lots' and where all the NPCs are using variables. I can help, if you want

Cool.
How do you think it should be done? (e.g. isometric, overhead, side-scrolling)
And with what style? (e.g. fully 3d, animated, cartoonish)
Any ideas on the level of complexity? (e.g. full life simulation with family sims, cities; 'Sims Social' - type with fixed house and land; exploration - type with lives and a fixed target of points)
