Does anyone else think

That we might all see different colours?

I mean, say you were just born, and you looked at a piece of paper. Someone tells you that it is orange. But you see a blue colour (but you don't know it is blue, you just were told it was orange.)

That means that you 'know' that every colour that was the same as that one is called orange.

It is a blue colour in your eyes but all you know is that it is named orange.

Anyone else see where I am coming from?

Re: Does anyone else think

Nope

The sensory garbage in your eye has a certain amount of the green detectors and blue detectors and whatnot. So it may be a few hints off but we, in general, see the same colors

Well then that's a relief. Unless you just made all that up on the spot.

Yeah, It's possible, but the religion I believe in consists of everything being based off of science and so I don't think that is true.

Re: Does anyone else think

I thought about it a while ago whilst writing an essay about perspective

Since I specialize in knowing things that don't matter I decided to look into it some

Re: Does anyone else think

I think I thought of something like this about 6 years ago, but since then I figured it wasn't very likely or important in general.

Re: Does anyone else think

Yea, like that guy with rocks in his siggy (can't be bothered to look up the name) said, our eyes basically have the same rods and cones, so maybe a few shades or hints off, but generally the same, unless you have a disorder or something.

EDIT: OH! IT'S RUFFLE!

Re: Does anyone else think

Scientists are suprised humans can agree on basic colors. It's harder to agree on Aquamarine and Eggshell.

Re: Does anyone else think

Disproven in humans, because otherwise people wouldn't be able to agree on colours that go together. However, birds have 6 or 7 base colours, so we have no idea what they see, because it's impossible for us to imagine.

Re: Does anyone else think

This is the sort of question that I think about everyday, and they drive me crazy.
It would be so cool if you could spend a day in someone else's body, then you could answer questions like these.

Or you could research eyes' perception of light like me

Then you could answer questions like these

I'd rather see the world as a "wild" animal personally

Re: Does anyone else think

I was thinking about what people would see if they were born with no eyes, or if you were deleted off the face of the earth, or what it'd look like if there was no such thing as existance.

Same.
I also wonder how it's possible for the universe to have been created. I mean, I know there was a big bang, but there must have been an atom to explode in the first place. So where did the atom come from?! And if there was no atom, how can literally nothing blow up? And I realise I'm rambling on now, so I'll end it there  tongue

Existance always existed, nobody knows how it was made, but apparently it has no beggining or end.
