You're a girl? For some reason, I've always thought you're a boy.
Me too! Maybe because of the "Jeff" in her username...
And me (No offense).

I COMPLAIN TO EVERYONE
And I guess I don't have a similar problem. Though this girl did get very offended when I called her short today explaining that I would never ever get a girlfriend and if did she would hate me anyway.

Be his friend. Start talking to him. That's working for me.
Well, it might be different for you, cause I hang out with everyone. X3
And you're shy so...

It's just that boys don't ever notice me.
Try being more social or something around them? I'm also a firm believer that all gender's should be able to ask someone out instead of just guys.
Mainly because it's trouble for me and I can't handle the rejection.

@scmb1: That, unfortunetly, won't work. I don't have any classes with him.

Just talk about how much your teacher is horrible.

Do you have any mutual friends?

When people try to make friends with me they've always found some mutual subject we could both blab about and then we blabbed about it
Most of my friends are boys, but I haven't found the process of befriending them much/any different from befriending girls. If anything I've found my friendship with them to be more interesting, since they don't want to talk about purses and shoes and clothes. Except one, but he doesn't count because he's cool about it
And I can't help but wonder how you only know him enough to refer to the matter as you "know-ish"ing him but you call him your crush
It being halfway through the school year could be a problem if everyone's got their little cliques firmly established
But try why not try anyway!!!111

Why don't you just go right out and talk to him?
e.g.
"Hi, my name's _____. I heard you play violin..."
You can go a lot of places from that. You can ask him to practice with you, invite him to concerts, or just get into a plain old conversation.
Or, try to make friends with his friends first, and quietly hang around. That's what I did with my crush, I got closer and closer to him until we were finally pretty good friends.
Everything is easier if you go straight out and just TALK. Maybe that's why I'm such a social butterfly, talking comes VERY naturally to me. I talk a lot...^^'' Or point out things, like make a random comment on the first thing you see. I've started a lot of conversations that way.
Try complimenting him. Although it may not seem this way, boys love compliments as much as girls do. If he's your crush, there's got to be things you like about him, right? (e.g. he's smart! his smile! his shirt! etc.)
If you're really desperate for things to say/do, go here. It's got some pretty good stuff.

I have a feeling Paddle had nothing better to do.

bump (again)
And I'd offer to teach him, but the field trip to the roller rink is long over.
