Interested In Becoming An SDS Curator?
Scratch Design studio is a themed gallery that is featured on the homepage. Every two-four weeks the theme changes. Since the projects are shown on the home page, only SDS curators can add projects that they have checked and are sure that they do not contain inappropriate/scary images.

We have run low on curators and need to hire one more. When hiring curators, the current curators and the Scratch Team look for active members of the Scratch community that are willing to help out and be friendly.

If you are interested, apply below quickly stating how you have helped in Scratch before and why you would like to become an SDS curator. Quick and to the point applications are best! Keep in mind that we consider everyone's application and that we take your Scratch experience into consideration.

Also, remember that this is a commitment and you should only apply if you are truly going to be able to help us by adding projects. This is not the front page curator, it's an SDS curator position.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the curator position last?
Curators can stay as long as they like, if they are active.

How long does it take to curate?
There is not set time, you can curate as much as you like, but school and real life activities come first!

Who are the current Curators?
poopo, lilacfuzz101, Scimonster, JJROCKER, pokemongardevoir, and stevetheipad are the current curators.

Basically this is my history on Scratch.
I joined in 2009. I've been learning, help people, and am helped back. I've participated in most SDS galleries lately. The only one recently I have no participated in is the Pen one, because I couldn't think of anything really cool to make. If you look in All About Scratch you will see that I try and help out as much as possible. I also have been following the gallery, so I know a lot about it. I also know how short you are on people. In the average week, I can be online 4+ hours a day. Plenty of time to curate the gallery. Now as to keep this brief, I won't say too much. I also want to give back to the community. When I joined Scratch, I was 9. I was also clueless. Would Scratch not have had such a nice community, ready to give help on a wim, I would still have the same programming skills. And I know there are more people out there like me, that could use help.

Yes, JJ! We talked about it.

I'm using this to see who is interested and then bring the top couple of aplicants to Lightnin and let him help decide who to hire.

Yeah, that's what I thought because she was only helping about a week(before she accidently deleted the gallery tongue ) Or maybe she's still secretly adding like before.

I am mattb777, and I would like to be an SDS curator on Scratch. I want to because I am open to new opportunities. I promise that I am very active almost all of the time. I have helped others by answering their questions, giving constructive feedback on projects that need work, and by NEVER trolling or spamming on purpose.

I will not add projects with a cat that says "Hello" or things like that. A cat saying "Hello" does not count as 1-Sprite 1-Script. I will make sure that the projects actually work with the theme.

Please pick me; it won't be a mistake. smile

Oh hey.
I would like to become a SDS Curator because I've been using scratch for like over 4 years and I'd love to give something back to the people who have made my experience with scratch possible.

I also look at projects a lot, I have like 5 million pages of favorites, so I'd be able to help out and get the job done really quickly. woooooooooo
