One of mine took 3 weeks and the other took a couple days. I have even heard of it taking months.
It all depends on the file size of the app, but I would say a 2-4 weeks is the usual time period it takes for the app store team to approve an app.

I am trying for the 3rd time to download iOS 5, but iTunes and Firefox are being stubborn. iTunes can't even get past starting Genius, and Firefox didn't keep the giant download when I tried to download it through there
