Some people spend hours making games. But you can make good games with just about 30 minutes. For example, take a look at my top 3 games cat dance fever 1, 2, and 3. I just put together some blocks and put some sound into it, and you can play it just for when you need somthing to do.

You are most correct, but this topic for future reference should be in the Inspiration and More thread.

While that can be true, generally you will spend more time making really good projects.

This is 100% true. Look at my rubbish sonic game that took 5 hours making. Then look at my maze game which took about 30 hour. Which one is better?
P.s: this should be in insperation and more like bosox397 said
edit: no wait 30 minutes making the maze game
Edit2: also shortcuts are the best things aswell as long as the give equal performance
e.g
<when green flag clicked>
<forever if> <key[ Right arrow ]pressed?>
<move(10 )steps>
<when[right ]key pressed>
<move(10 )steps>
Or
<when green flag clicked>
<forever>
<if><key[Right ]pressed?>
<move(10 )steps>
<if><key[Left]pressed?>
<move(-10 )steps>

My projects are pretty simple, and they aren't very popular. I'm currently working on a complicated overworld scroller including the hottest songs on newground's audio portal.

The problem with long term games is that it can REALLY * you off if you don't get much recognition. REALLY ANNOYING.
