Social Networking Sites

What's your opinion on social networking sites? For example Facebook or Twitter.
Personally, I think they're a waste of time, but that's just my opinion. I can see other people would like them though.

Re: Social Networking Sites

They're good, but they shouldn't replace your whole social life with it.

Re: Social Networking Sites

It depends on which site and how you use it.

Re: Social Networking Sites

I don't bother with them.  What's the point?  Showing pictures of yourself off to the world?   tongue

I will get a Facebook in a year or two... .3. That's it, I don't see it necessary for a 13 year old to have one cx

They don't automatically take pictures of you then send them to everyone, you need to take the picture yourself, upload it, then set it so everyone can see it.

I know, I "hacked" this guy's Facebook.  Actually the fool gave me his password xD just played some games, messed around with pictures, impersonated him and then got bored xD

Re: Social Networking Sites

I think they're fine, as long as you don't use them as your life. I use facebook to stay in touch with friends that I can no longer see.

Re: Social Networking Sites

They're OK, I mean, they're good for keeping in touch with friends/family you don't see often.
I think some people misunderstand social networking sights. They think the sight itself is bad, but it's really the people on it. Facebook/MySpace/Twitter doesn't control people and make them say dumb stuff. It's always the people. Websites aren't people. I quote one lady I saw on TV: "I posted: 'My students are germbags', and everybody saw it. I blame Facebook for the loss of my job" (That wasn't exactly what she said, word for word, but that's what she basically said)

It’s okay. It got on my nerves at first but the idea that I could have just started a fad calms me down.  tongue

You can keep it. Why not make it a link? Like mine?

Re: Social Networking Sites

social networking sites are wonderful and are interconnecting our world and breaking down boundaries. Technically, one could consider scratch a social networking site. Of course, they are only bad if they consume your entire life. But I actually think that people like that are a source of entertainment. So I love social networking sites.
