It seems that last time I visited Scratch, around one and a half years ago, in an account which I can't remember, the developers of Scratch were saying that 2.0 was going to be out late 2010 or early 2011. What now?
It's December 2011, almost Christmas, and still no 2.0
So when is the ACTUAL release date?

I don't think it's been announced for sure, but there's rumours it'll be sometime in May-July next year, and possibly even on Scratch Day :)

Don’t listen to the rumors.
Lightnin himself said they are trying to aim for Scratch Day 2012.
He said they were aiming for an alpha or a beta by Scratch Day.

When will they make their mind up?
-_-*
It’s not a matter of decision, it’a a matter of “can they get it done?” because Scratch isn’t their job. Although if people actually donated, it could be, and then production would be a lot faster.

We'll, we're shooting for Scratch Day 2012, but there's a lot of work to be done.
Importing movies: Probably not.
Convert to flash: It's not on the agenda, but we may explore ways of exporting projects in "standalone" formats. This might have to wait for 2.1.
By the way, the time between Scratch 2.0 and Scratch 2.1 will likely be a lot shorter. Being all "in the cloud" will mean that we can release beta versions of new features much more quickly and easily than before.

Scratch is just a side project for the Scratch Team. The Scratch Team is basically college students in MIT (University), doing this for a project. I doubt they knew it would become so big.

What’s the difference between a college and a university?
